We present the International Competences for Undergraduate Psychology (ICUP) Model, developed through the International Collaboration on Undergraduate Psychology Outcomes (ICUPO) project. Created through extensive collaboration among over 120 psychology educators from over 47 countries, the Model comprises 24 competence statements across seven categories: two core competences (Psychological Knowledge; Research Methodologies) and five Psychology-relevant competences (Values and Ethics; Cultural Responsiveness and Diversity; Critical Thinking and Problem Solving; Communication and Interpersonal Interaction; Personal and Professional Development). The ICUP Model is intended to be used alongside existing local and national competence models as appropriate to the specific context. The first presentation of this symposium will provide a brief overview of the 'why, how and what' of the ICUP Model. The second presentation highlights the value of the ICUP Model from stakeholder (student, educator, employer, community/society) perspectives. The third presentation will provide examples of (a) implementation of the Model in national and local contexts, and (b) national perspectives on the ICUP Model. The fourth presentation will provide a specific example of how the ICUP competences have been integrated into an undergraduate program through a curriculum renewal process. The fifth presentation will introduce international research on student and educator perceptions of (a) the value of the ICUP Model, and (b) the extent to which the ICUP competences are covered in their current foundational psychology curriculum. ICAP Relevance Statement: The ICUP competences constitute a unique international Model designed to guide foundational undergraduate psychology curricula globally, while remaining adaptable across diverse national and institutional environments. The competences include emphasis on application of psychological knowledge, skills and values/attitudes to personal, work and community/societal contexts.
