COST Action program is a unique opportunity and the European Commission's oldest funding program that promotes the creation of scientist-practitioner networks in a given topic area and both drive scientific excellence and societal impact.
This symposium provides a detailed overview on the COST Action LeverAge A European network to leverage the multi-age workforce as the first Action led by WOP/HRM scholars in at least the last decade. The aim of the network is to advance, share, and promote knowledge and implementation of evidence-based practices to fully leverage the multi-age workforce and enhance the well-being, productivity and prosperity of individuals, organizations, and societies.
Composed of four presentations and a discussion, this symposium will provide practical recommendations on how to manage a scientist practitioner network which can be generalized beyond the WOP field and can be applicable to any applied psychology field.
The first presentation will focus on the practical implications for coordination of a COST program, while the second presentation will focus on the leadership of a cost action working group Successful Aging at Work. The third presentation will offer an overview of previous successful short term scientific mission within this cost action network broadcasting their impact on research progress, networking, and interdisciplinary cooperation. The fourth presentation will discuss practical implications for scientific communication taking into account different stakeholders in order to bridge the scientific practitioner gap in the field of work, aging, and retirement. Finally, a WOP practitioner discussant will provide an overview of the benefits and lessons learnt for an international scientist practitioner collaboration. This symposium makes great contributions to ICAP as it explores practical examples of the different aspects of LeverAge offering a unique view of how to manage and promote a scientist practitioner network on a highly relevant WOP topic
