Saturday 25 July 08:15 - 09:45
Hall: 11 - Palazzina 3

Chair and Presenter: Blumen Sheyla

Division: Division 17: Professional Psychology

Adolescents today grow up in contexts marked by inequality, cultural diversity, rapid global change, and unprecedented challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Understanding their developmental pathways requires an interdisciplinary lens that bridges mental health, high abilities, socioemotional functioning, and cultural dynamics. This symposium gathers leading scholars from Latin America and beyond to examine how adolescents' potential and vulnerabilities are shaped by their environments, and how psychology can contribute to policies and practices that promote resilience, equity, and sustainable futures.
