Peru is characterized by marked cultural, social, and economic diversity. Within this context, adolescents undergo key developmental processes and gradually consolidate their personalities. This complexity was further intensified by the challenges of experiencing adolescence during the COVID-19 pandemic, under one of the longest lockdowns worldwide. This study compares the psychological functioning of 200 adolescents from Cusco (100 from rural areas and 100 from urban areas), assessed before the pandemic, with that of 100 adolescents from Lima evaluated during the lockdown. Participants, aged 12 to 16, were evenly distributed by sex and age and assessed using the Rorschach Psychodiagnostics Test under the Comprehensive System, which explores multiple dimensions of psychological functioning: cognitive-perceptual processes, impulse control and affective expression, self-perception, and interpersonal perception.
