The proposed symposium addresses the status and development of psychological sciences in
the Arab world, with a focus on academic, research, and professional challenges that shape
the field in the region. Members of the AUPsyS from multiple Arab countries will critically
examine core areas, with an emphasis on identifying key achievements and persistent
structural and methodological constraints affecting knowledge production, professional
regulation, and service delivery. Particular attention is given to issues of ethical practice, and
the adaptation of international standards to the sociocultural realities of the Arab region. The
symposium aspires to conclude with a set of recommendations aimed at strengthening
institutional frameworks, enhancing research capacity, and promoting the sustainable and
contextually grounded advancement of psychological sciences in the Arab world.
