The symposium presents research and experiences on services for normal aging free of neurological or psychiatric conditions. This topic is highly relevant because existing services for older adults are primarily aimed at people with pathologies, and those for normal older adults are almost exclusively for assistance, lacking specific psychological interventions that can stimulate cognitive and emotional functions and prevent deterioration or reduction in quality of life.
Presenters will discuss predictors of subjective well-being and quality of life in various European countries (Zamalijeva, Lithuania), specific training to stimulate memory skills and increase well-being (Fairfield, Italy), applications of Artificial Intelligence and robotics (Cangelosi, UK), strategies for preventing falls (Albert & Hoffmann, Luxembourg), and services for preventing deterioration and abnormal aging (Di Nuovo, Italy).
The contributions that psychology can offer to society to promote a better quality of life for older people in their living contexts will be presented in detail
