From Organizational Imagination to Transformative Action: Towards Sustainable
Work Practices challenge is to enhance the relevance of psychological knowledge through generative approaches that produce
collective goods and promote sustainability—environmental, economic, social, professional, and organizational. This
shift requires rethinking the categories and themes of WOP, moving beyond abstract classifications towards bridging
the gap between research and practice.
The symposium calls for a mobilization of knowledge aimed at activating realistic conditions for empowerment and
growth in work and organizational life. This involves engaging with complexity—power dynamics, negotiation,
paradoxes, and contradictions—across individual, relational, and institutional dimensions. Such work must be "good
enough" (in Winnicott's sense): not idealized, but sustainable and aware of the responsibilities of those who contribute
to organizational transformation.
Finally, the proposed approach demands a complex and dynamic view of organizational realities, seen as evolving
constellations of material and immaterial elements. To understand and influence such systems, researchers must
adopt interpretive and critical paradigms that allow for the deconstruction and reconfiguration of assumptions and
practices, in line with a renewed vision of research—rigorous, beautiful, and deeply connected to reality.
