The objective of this symposium is to discuss the contribution of psychological and behavioral sciences for the
promotion of sustainable lifestyles. A series of studies, conducted through different methods and approaches, in a
variety of geographical and cultural contexts, will be presented to discuss the main psychological factors at the basis
of relevant behaviors and perception in the domains of water conservation, energy saving, and perception of climate
change. The presentations included in this symposium will provide a good example of how evidence-based
psychological research could offer a solid base for real-world application of behavioral interventions to address
significant environmental challenges in contemporary society.
