Division: Division 18: History of Applied Psychology

The history of psychology has multiple origins. Many authors from different countries have contributed to its development from different regions or countries. One of these important authors is Rubén Ardila. His work contributed to the development of psychology, particularly in Latin America. Rubén Ardila has been a prominent figure in international psychology, a professor at the National University of Colombia, his home country, has been a master in several fields of psychological knowledge, and especially in the history of psychology. He was the second president of Division 18 of the IAAP, the division dedicated to the History of Applied Psychology. The figure of Mercedes Rodrigo, the first Spanish psychologist, and her influence in Latin America are also analyzed. With the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, Mercedes Rodrigo accepted a position on the Madrid Board for the Defense of Minors, the Committee for the Aid of Children. Her work focused on caring for orphaned, abandoned, or children given up by parents who, faced with food shortages and the bombing of the civilian population, sought to protect them.
Female entrepreneurship—understood as the generation of innovation, creativity, growth, and employment—is a highly relevant phenomenon for national economies. Traditionally, cultural norms and stereotypes have associated entrepreneurship primarily with men. However, research on female entrepreneurs has become increasingly important. This study analyzes the historical evolution of research on women's entrepreneurship through bibliometric analysis, with particular emphasis on the role of digitalization as a factor mitigating the barriers faced by women entrepreneurs. The bibliometric method examines bibliographic material from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives, based on the systematic classification of information, using Web of Science and Scopus.
