This poster will review the evidence-based research completed over the last 6 years on a client base of over 25,000 clients. The researchers compared the vocational outcomes of practitioners from 4 states in the USA to the employment results of their clients. They then regressed the specific training of those practitioners in the area of work and special needs assessment. The outcomes revealed the 4 most critical areas for training practitioners whose client's, especially those with disabilities, sought competitive integrated employment, and especially those seeking quality jobs. The results will be provided in the poster, along with several other findings in the study involving caseload management, subminimum wage, diversity of clients, credentials of practitioners and the length of time needed to learn these methods without pre-service training. A review of the 8 peer-reviewed papers which resulted from the study will be included, as well as a summary of feedback from participants and those who took specialized training, as a result of this body of work. The 5 free training modules, which resulted from the study will be presented and how to access the training modules at no cost. All of this data will be shared, especially how practitioners may want to self-train on the free modules and how they may want to offer such employment-focused services to their clients. Special emphasis will be given to clients with special needs and to youth ,from a psycho-educational perspective.
