I will discuss the results of my systematic review on Human-Autonomy Teams in which I outline a definition and differentiate it from Human Automation Interaction. I will report on preliminary results of my updated systematic review that documents and evaluates research methods in the Human-Autonomy Teams literature. Finally, I will explore the psychology of Human-Autonomy Teams. Specifically, the roles of social identity and small groups evolutionary processes in human perceptions of AI agents as teammates versus tools will be considered. A model will be provided that explains how the integration of AI agents as fully fledged team members impacts socialization and reflection processes in the team, and ultimately AI agent social and task integration depending on the identify processes mentioned earlier. Future research and practice opportunities will be offered.
