4121 - INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION WORKING: A MODEL FOR BUILDING TRUST

Session: 4118 - TRUST: THE CEMENT THAT HOLDS THE WORLD TOGETHER IS ERODING
AUTHORS:
Plenty Richard (Thisis ~ Kingston Upon Thames ~ United Kingdom)
Abstract text:
This presentation describes a model of trust developed from many years'
experience of working internationally on organisation and leadership
development in the energy, aviation and climate change areas as well as
from the facilitation of the Global Psychology Alliance (GPA) since its
inception in 2019.
The model builds on the Richmor Framework for dealing with uncertainty,
a four step approach consisting of Reflect, Strategise, Explore and Act.
This model was first articulated in the book 'Uncertainty Rules?' written by
Richard Plenty and Terri Morrissey in 2019. He applies this to the
development of trust and transformative, rather than transactional,
relationships. Examples will be given of how this approach has been used
in the Alliance's work on climate change and other complex global
challenges.
