Abstract text:
The EFPSA's Training Office is a service founded in 2010/2011, with the aim of meeting the growing need for high-quality, evidence-based training within EFPSA. EFPSA Trainers support the personal and professional development of psychology students by delivering experiential and interactive learning sessions that foster growth, both individually and in groups. The mission is to prepare active EFPSA members for their mandates, support them throughout, and ensure the well-functioning of the organisation, while promoting non-formal education as a key tool for societal change.
EFPSA Trainers are psychology students who combine scientific knowledge with professional training skills, making them highly valued within the international training community. They deliver team-building sessions within EFPSA, soft skills workshops at Universities, and evidence-based trainings for external organisations.
The Trainers' Community offers its members opportunities such as becoming an official EFPSA Trainer, contributing to the development of EFPSA's training system, joining a European network of like-minded peers, and mentoring new Trainer Candidates. Guided by values of quality, transparency, respect, trust, and development, this Training service continues to expand its impact.
EFPSA also offers several training events, such as the Train the Trainers Summer School - an intensive eight-day program that equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to deliver effective training. Successful graduates are invited to join the EFPSA Trainers' Pool, a community of trainers approved by the Training Office. Once accepted, Trainers can deliver sessions in the name of EFPSA, access training calls, and actively participate in the Training Community.
For experienced trainers, EFPSA offers Train Advanced Trainers (TAT), a nine-day program for 25-30 seasoned trainers from multiple NGOs, focusing on specialised training topics and networking. And the Trainers' Meetings (TRAM) provide additional opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, skill sharing, and professional development.
