The Intelligence and Development scales - 2 (IDS-2) provide a comprehensive diagnostic assessment with 30 subtests covering six domains: two cognitive domains (Intelligence and Executive Functions) and four developmental domains (Psychomotor Skills, Social-Emotional Skills, Scholastic Skills, and Motivation and Attitude). The IDS-2 offers detailed insights into children's and adolescents' strengths and developmental needs, enabling psychologists to identify specific areas requiring support to help individuals reach their full potential. The IDS-2 can be applied in diverse contexts, including the identification and diagnosis of intellectual disabilities and learning disorders, the evaluating of cognitive and motor skills, and understanding emotional resources and weaknesses. Currently, the IDS-2 has been adapted or is being adapted across multiple countries with a combined sample size of approximately 15.000 children and adolescents aged 5;0 to 19;11 years in the U.S., United Kingdom, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany/Austria/Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and Spain. This presentation will provide an overview of the factorial, convergent (e.g. WISC, WPPSI, RIAS; SON-R, SPM, TEA, BRIEF, M-ABC, SDQ), and differential validity (e.g. high/low intelligence, learning disability, reading/writing disability, dyslexia, ADHD, DCD, ASD) across the available language versions. We conclude that (1) the IDS-2 clearly meet the expected validity standards, and that the (2) validity evidence is comparable across cultural contexts.
