Abstract text:
In recent years there has been a growth of discussion on the impact of colonization on psychological theory and practice around the globe. Canadian scholars, educators, and practitioners have engaged in considerable efforts to recovery from centuries of colonialist action and move towards reconciliation and the indigenization of psychology through the recognition of multiple knowledge systems. This presentation highlights some of those efforts to renew our assumptions around knowledge and power, systems of knowing, and pedagogical practices.
