Abstract text:
In recent years, we have witnessed the emergence of disaggregating collective phenomena that, by fueling widespread anxiety, distrust in institutions, relational isolation, and civic disengagement, appear to seriously undermine the social capital of communities. This attack on the shared relational fabric generates significant psychosocial effects, manifesting both at the individual and collective levels, and weakening the bonds of trust, reciprocity, and collaboration. However, from a community psychosocial perspective, it is possible not only to observe and analyze the negative impacts of such transformations, but also to identify signs of resilience and the transformative potential embedded within these crises. Indeed, social and relational instability may open up opportunities for new forms of commitment, solidarity, and participation, encouraging the reactivation of cooperative, mutualistic processes and the shared construction of the common good.
In this context, collective interventions are needed that promote active citizen participation through co-design practices, the activation of local networks, community empowerment pathways, and inclusive spaces for dialogue. Social labs, civic forums, active citizenship initiatives, and shared care of common goods represent key tools for rebuilding trust, stimulating mutual engagement, and strengthening the relational infrastructures that sustain democratic life and social cohesion.
The presentation will discuss data from research and practical experiences aimed at fostering a greater sense of responsibility togetherness, and following the collective engagement.
