Abstract text:
Adaption to social environment is for people with intellectual disabilities often challenging. They are confronted with expectations on their behaviour and adaptional skills due to their life age. But many of them don't pass development in the same speed and steps as they are aging physically.
The first look at them often is based on physical outlook. Especially people with no physically obvious retardation or malformation often are checked as not possibly being delayed in development and faced with according expectations and offers. Resultant behavior then can become maladaptive. This can be challenging and frustrating for all parts in social interaction.
The orientation on the developmental levels in emotional development is important to focus on the emotional needs in order to reach a good state of emotional satisfaction. This can give a base to being well and support to face the different challenges of daily life.

Method:
With the SEED-2 an external assessment is created, that is used in clinical and ambulant settings. It is one part of the assessment in MZEBs and results in a general classification for psychological diagnostics as well as in a differential recommendation to the constellation of support and therapy.

Evaluation:
The use of the SEED-2 is evaluated by control meetings during the treatment in MZEBs, and shows effects on well-being, measured by decline of maladaptive behavior and other medical features.
