Abstract text:
60% of young people aged 16 to 25 are "very" or "extremely" worried about climate change, and over 60% of them believe that governments are "letting them down," "lying," and "ignoring their distress" (The Lancet, 2021). In this context, various stakeholders in education and career guidance can implement support measures to address the urgent need to equip youth in the face of environmental destruction. The SENSitive program (SENSe, alternatIve narraTives, restorative InterVEntions, and Empowerment) was born from this perspective. It aims to enable young people aged 12 to 18 to create tools to strengthen their understanding of climate issues, develop their sense of self-efficacy (Lecomte, 2004) and collective action. (Schwartz and al., 2022) (The goal is to help them choose a meaningful career path and co-construct restorative interventions. (Steger, 2024). SENSitive seeks to develop alternative narratives that challenge dominant narratives such as "performance," "infinite growth," and "competition" (Bedell, 2023). This program, consisting of five two-hour sessions designed for educational teams, is based on interdisciplinary research in existential psychology, economics, career counseling, narrative practices, and restorative positive psychology.
