Abstract text:
This study presents the adaptation and validation of the Multidimensional Employability Measure (based on Lo Presti & Pluviano's model) for use in the Polish context. The adaptation process followed a rigorous methodology including translation, back-translation, and expert panel review to ensure linguistic and cultural equivalence. Through two comprehensive studies, we examined the psychometric properties and construct validity of the Polish version. Study 1 (N=540) focused on the adaptation process, including translation and back-translation procedures, followed by confirmatory factor analysis which verified the four- dimension structure (human capital/professional development, social capital/networking, career identity/self-management, and environmental monitoring). The analysis demonstrated good model fit and internal consistency. Study 2 (N=400) established construct validity by examining relationships with theoretically related measures including Perceived Employability, PsyCap (Psychological Capital), subjective and objective career success indicators, and employability culture. Results showed significant correlations in expected directions, supporting both convergent and criterion validity of the adapted measure. The findings confirm that the Polish version maintains the psychometric integrity of the original instrument while demonstrating cultural appropriateness. This validated tool provides researchers and practitioners with a reliable instrument for assessing employability in Polish organizational contexts.
