This study investigates the transformative potential of critical participatory action research as a psychosocial intervention with African unaccompanied minors hosted in a reception center (CAS) in Padua, Italy. Employing an exploratory, process-oriented approach, the project aimed to foster critical consciousness through artistic and dialogical activities involving 18 participants and 5 researchers. Utilizing methods such as photovoice, discussions, and abductive thematic analysis, the research uncovered strategies of resistance within the "liminal hotspots" of migratory contexts, highlighting their emancipatory dimensions. The findings emphasize the importance of collaborative practices, empowering narratives, and acts of solidarity, proposing a redefinition of psychosocial support toward less hierarchical, experiential, and participatory frameworks.
