Abstract text:
This paper explores the role of leadership in the changing world of work. While studies have been conducted on leadership, there is still room for more research, to gain a better understanding of how leadership can be a panacea for organisational success in the changing world of work. Workers are overburdened my myriad of problems, from use of AI, restructuring and retrenchments, economic liberalization, etc. Employees' emotional stability and mental health have suffered greatly as a result. With all these changes the centrality of effective leadership cannot be overemphasized. It takes a leadership call, to deal with challenges that affect employee morale. Without effective leadership to translate plans into purposeful action, even the most robust strategies risk stagnation. Organisational success hinges on leadership's capacity to inspire employees, maintain dedication in the face of adversity, and align vision. This is a conceptual paper, based on secondary data and not an empirical study. In order to show how leaders can set an example of behaviour and create an efficient organisation, this paper's theoretical framework is built on transformational leadership and John Maxwell levels of understanding leadership. The paper argue that effective leadership must be adaptive, participatory, and anchored on continuous learning. In a world of uncertainty, it is not strategy alone, financial resources alone, the environment alone that delivers results, but the leadership that utilise and harmonize all resources and bring the organizational vision to life.
