Abstract text:
Employee actions outside of official job specifications—also referred to as Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB)—play a significant role in an organization's ability to survive and succeed in a competitive world. The predictive influence of Vedic personality dispositions—Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas combined as Trigunatmak Personality Traits (TPT)—and Psychological Ownership (PO) on Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) among Indian professionals, including gender differences, is examined in this research. Psychological Ownership refers to a cognitive-affective state where people feel possessiveness towards their organisation, regardless of legal ownership. The research aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5, 8, and 16, specifically focusing on gender equality, decent work, and stable institutions. OCB will be measured with the 24-item scale of Podsakoff et al. (1990), customised for Indian contexts by A.P. Singh and Akhilendra K. Singh (2010), with remarkably high internal consistency (α > 0.85). PO is also assessed using a 12-item multidimensional scale created by Amit Shukla and S. Singh (2015), covering the domains of Affection, Connectedness, and Obligation (α > 0.80). The Vedic personality is assessed through the Trigunatmak Personality Schedule of Dr. R.R. Tripathi (1989), which comprises 138 items with subscale consistencies of 0.89 (Sattva), 0.85 (Rajas), and 0.81 (Tamas). Statistical tests will be used to establish the strength and direction of relationships between TPT, PO, and OCB with gender comparisons. The outcome should add to theoretical discussions and produce a conceptual framework that merges TPT and PO as predictors of OCB. This study can guide further studies and practical organisational development strategies.
