Introduction:- Pornography has appeared all over the world, across all cultures and communities. The content available in pornographic websites in modern times is inclined more towards violent picturization, which leads to physical and psychological abuse against women. Unnatural and unsafe intercourse (Anal or Oral), brutal way of intercourse, punishing women during intimacy and intercourse such as pulling hair, slapping to partner, and choking while intercourse are common practices displayed on these sites. All these wrong and misinterpreted sexual content can make the situation even worse for women in the society. As such kind of presentation can lead to misunderstandings about intimacy and romance, especially to young generation. Thus, it leads to increased likelihood of sexual violence against women by these individuals.
Objective: The aim of the study is to demonstrate the relation of pornography with attitude supporting sexual violence against women (ASV) in recent decades.
Method:- The study adopted a literature review approach for the analysis and synthesis of open-access articles, including empirical and review work as well as book chapters on the topics of pornography and sexual offense. The articles were extracted from prominent and credible digital databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, PsycNet, JSTOR, and others. In addition to this, attempts were made to incorporate recent studies to justify the review's inclusion.
Conclusion: This review suggests that aggressiveness in pornographic content can promote attitude supporting sexual violence against women (ASV) in real life. Furthermore, the content illustrated in these sites are far from reality, however it's viewers may misinterpret as actual. Thus, it may lead to maladaptive behaviour in real world.
