In Brazil, career counseling practices typically take place at the individual level, and group work has proven to be a field worthy of exploration and expansion, beyond psychometric models. The need to produce practical knowledge and develop theoretical models for group career counseling is both important and emerging. A model that encompasses group counseling for adults, from a socioconstructionist perspective, has been practiced within a free career counseling service at a public university in São Paulo, open to the entire community. The objective of this presentation is to share the experiences of counseling groups of adults over 25, based on socioconstructionist guidelines, considering career as a psychosocial element, in which the individual's entire professional trajectory is relevant. This service model is being developed at the Career Counseling Center of the Institute of Psychology at the University of São Paulo. It is designed for adults over 25 years of age. They participate in six in-person meetings and are encouraged to develop a work action plan while simultaneously developing their work identity through socially constructed narratives. The socioconstructionist framework for conducting the services will be presented, along with the main needs of adults seeking career counseling services, the service model used in each meeting, and the final results, using one of the groups served in the first half of 2025 as an example. The results will include analyses of interventions carried out over recent years, which indicate changes in narratives and social repositioning among participants. This presentation aims to spark discussions with career counseling professionals and professional advisors, as well as researchers in these fields.
