Abstract text:
This literature review explores the sophisticated dimensions of domestic violence,
focusing on power dynamics, substance abuse, and psychological effects within intimate
relationships. The study challenges social conventions in order to empower victims by shedding
light on the widespread influence of traditional gender roles, economic inequality, and the
abuser's desire for domination. The review, which investigates the link between drug use and
domestic abuse, emphasizes the role of dependency, impaired judgment, and increased
aggression, advocating for integrated treatment programs, education initiatives, and legal
support. Addressing the profound psychological effects on victims, including anxiety,
depression, PTSD, and diminished self-worth, the study underscores the necessity of tailored
support systems encompassing mental health care, counseling, and advocacy. The collective
understanding resulting from this exploration emphasizes the interconnected nature of these
themes, advocating for interventions to break the cycle of domestic violence and foster a safer,
more equitable world.
