Abstract text:
Teleworking has proven to be one of the working models that ensures smooth operation and productivity, both during the COVID-19 pandemic and the period afterward. It has been proven that remote workers with adequate workplace conditions can work efficiently remotely, without negative implications for their productivity or performance. However, there is currently a trend toward returning to in-person work at the expense of teleworking. The objective of this study is to analyze the reasons that are leading many companies to return to face-to-face work. In addition, perceptions and conditions between face-to-face work, teleworking, and hybrid work are compared. To achieve this objective, a survey was conducted with 300 executives. ANOVA, the Chi-square test, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used as the main data analysis techniques. The results show that participants tend to value hybrid work as the ideal and most effective modality for the company's strategy. They tend to consider hybrid work as the one that best supports productivity. Furthermore, to address the challenges of this "hybrid" work mode, participants highlight several relevant measures, such as management measures, coordination and interaction between team members, social skills (teamwork, verbal and written communication, etc.), and greater investment in tools and skills in the use of ICT.
