Abstract text:
Telepsychological treatment of mental illnesses such as post-traumatic stress disorder or certain anxiety disorders is now regarded as an effective and generally well-evaluated treatment. In the area of addiction treatment, however, there are reservations on the part of clinical psychologists. Is it effective at all? How can abstinence be ensured? What about adherence?
This presentation will outline the scientific status quo with regard to this type of treatment and provide evidence that telepsychology can be more than just an adjuvant form of treatment in the treatment of substance use disorders.
