Abstract text:
Although scholars have studied the relationship between creative time pressure and innovative performance from different perspectives, few studies have focused on the potential impact of team time cognition and social network. Base on the attentional focus model and social network perspective, this study examined the relationship between team creative time pressure and team innovative performance, as well as the moderating role of team network density and the mediating role of team time detachment. Data were collected from 446 team members in 108 R&D teams in China. The results showed that team time detachment mediated the relationship between team creative time pressure and team innovative performance, while team network density played a negative moderating role. That is, team creative time pressure had a positive impact on team innovative performance through team time detachment. In addition, the positive indirect effect of team creative time pressure on team innovative performance (via team time detachment) would be stronger when team network density was low than when it was high. The findings contribute to the literature by revealing team time detachment as a mediator and team network density as a negative moderator in the relationship between creative time pressure and team innovation performance.
