During this 2-hour workshop, participants will discuss with the experienced convenors about the indications for venous embolization, various techniques of the procedures (coils, fluids, foam) and factors influencing the outcomes of a deep venous embolization procedure. Aspects such as decision-making and planning, intra-operative imaging, device-technologies and the procedural steps will be looked at. Interactive presentations, discussions and hands-on-parts will allow you to gain good insight into the best practices for embolization in the deep venous system

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the decision-making and planning-process for embolization in the deep venous system
2. List the advantages of embolization vs. conservative treatment
3. Explain the advantages of using specific embolization devices for given case (tailoring the treatment)
4. List the procedural steps for performing embolization in the deep venous system
5. Demonstrate the proper deployment of a coil or injecting fluid for the deep venous system
