SESSION: How to write & review a paper
21/09/2022 14:00 - 16:00

HALL: WS5

This WS is the most in depth transfer of knowledge that you need to prepare for the Academic Station of the FEBVS exam. Melina Vega De Ceniga will cover what a Vascular Surgeon, Vascular Surgical Trainee or Vascular Nurse needs to know about critically reviewing and having an in depth understanding of the quality of published literature. Although the phrase "publish or perish" is less relevant to modern vascular careers, most colleagues and institutions still value those who contribute to the published scientific literature. The workshop will explain how to increase your chances of getting a manuscript accepted for publication in a journal as well as preparing those of you who hope to pass the FEBVS exam. The workshop consists of a lecture with plenty of time for questions and answers throughout the workshop. The workshop is aimed at any clinician with an interest in vascular disease but is a must for trainees sitting professional exams (eg FEBVS) or who wish to publish their work and enhance their career progression.

It is strongly recommended that you consider registering for all the workshops below. This is because the Clinical and Academic viva-voce stations are an integral and challenging part of the FEBVS exam. A good performance in all exam stations is essential to maximise your chances of passing. The workshops are tried and tested to improve attendees chances of success.
