This special session explores the evolving landscape of sustainability in Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM). Although triple-bottom-line sustainability has guided research for over two decades, recent discussions suggest the field must fundamentally reconsider this approach. This seminar highlights emerging research perspectives designed to stimulate fresh thinking and innovative approaches in OSCM. Topics addressed will include moving beyond economically dominant sustainability models, enhancing supply chain resilience amid environmental crises, examining post-growth and degrowth scenarios, strategising just transitions for equitable sustainability, and exploring transformative public policy frameworks. Featuring distinguished speakers Prof. Mark Pagell, Prof. Andreas Wieland, Prof. Annachiara Longoni, Prof. Hakan Karaosman, and Prof. Stefan Gold, the session seeks to provoke meaningful discussions and inspire novel research avenues for achieving a truly sustainable future.
