This panel on "Religion and Transformation in Africa: A Multifaceted Perspective", is
part of the inaugural discussions  and motifs of the African Academy of Religion. It is
a recognition of the diverse, double edged and dynamic reality of the presence and
multi-prong manifestation of religion in the continent, over the ages; and the
subsequent and consequent  changes and transformation in individuals and other
key  institutions in the society, indeed in the life of the vast and historically rich
continent.
