Panel proponents may request schedule alterations between May 9-14, 2025, by sending an email to euare2025@univie.ac.at indicating their panel title and the desired date. We kindly remind you that due to the high number of panels, we may not be able to accommodate all requests.

The FINAL CONFERENCE SCHEDULE will be published on May 21st, 2025.

The European Academy of Religion’s Eighth Annual Conference EuARe2025 - Religion and Socio-Cultural Transformation: European Perspectives and Beyond will take place at the University of Vienna on July 8-12, 2025.

The venue for EuARe 2025 is the Main Building of the University of Vienna, located within Vienna’s historic centre (Universitätsring 1, 1010 Vienna), directly on Vienna’s Ringstrasse Boulevard.

We kindly remind you that onsite registration won’t be possible.

The deadline for panelists registration is June 1st, 2025. Please note that unregistered panelists might be removed from the program. The deadline to register for regular attendees is July 1st, 2025.

Please make sure to gather your badge and the conference materials before entering the conference. The Registration desks will be located at the Aula of the University of Vienna, Universitätsring 1, 1010 Vienna. You can access the Aula through the main entrance of the University of Vienna.

EuARe General Assembly

EuARe2025 General Assembly will be held in Audimax, University of Vienna, lower ground floor, right wing, Universitätsring 1, 1010 Vienna, on July 8, 2025, at 2:30 PM.

Opening Ceremony

The EuARe2025 Opening Ceremony is scheduled to take place in the same hall, Audimax, on July 8, 2025, at 4 PM. Following the Opening Ceremony, two keynote lectures will also be held in the same hall:
  • FRANZ FISCHLER(Former Austrian Politician) “The Role of Religions in the EU’s Social Cohesion”
  • GRACE DAVIE(Emeritus Professor at the University of Exeter) “Religion in modern Europe: Unexpected challenges”


An evening reception will be held at 7 PM after the Opening Ceremony in the Arcaded Courtyard of the University of Vienna (Universitätsring 1, 1010 Vienna). Attendance is limited to participants who have registered for the reception.
