This panel engages the pioneering monograph of Stefano Luca, Teologia delle differenze (Edizioni Terra Santa, 2023) which draws upon instinctive insights of the Franciscan tradition to construct a renewed theology of religions and foundation for interreligious dialogue. Built first and foremost upon the extraordinary encounter between Francis of Assisi and the Sultan al-Malik al-Kamil and the effects of this encounter for the Poverello's understanding of mission, Luca sketches a concept of "integral integration" which provides the backbone for a "theology of differences." Discussants include experts on theology of religions and comparative theology.
