In Italy exists a great cultural and religious diversity that is present in our daily interaction, but that we unconsciously ignore; this is due to the fact that it's established to live and act according to certain standards, and in contrast, others are rejected. This problem generates different racial and religious discussions that tear the nation apart culturally and cause segregation among citizens. One way of approaching this problem is from the educational context, where the main behavioral imperatives of the future citizens are established. In this process, religious education stands out, through the use of tools that allow for an agonizing interaction with the other/them. In this sense, this research seeks to propose a methodological strategy that allows the revaluation of the other/them from the development of competencies in religious education. To this end, a feedback synthesis was carried out from the curricular bases to the methodological construction. In this sense, the work is divided into: (1) An investigation of religious education in Italy, through its educational competencies; (2) An analysis of the principles of religious interculturality applied to the integral formation of the person; and (3) The approach of a methodological strategy for religious education. This process allows us to understand how religions relate to each other and in their interaction with the other/them, what essential or common aspects we find among religions, and what would be the result generated from recognizing the other. In sum, from the conceptual discussion, we find that a methodological proposal that allows differentiating the doctrinal from the formative is necessary to guarantee pluriculturality in religious diversity, and consequently a better interrelation between citizens with different cultures.
