A significant aspect of Christianity in China is how it interacts and has been interacting with other religions. The present paper analyzes the interaction between Buddhist Master Taixu and various Christians living in China during his time. These include foreign missionaries, such as Karl Ludvig Reichelt, Gilbert Reid, and Dryden Linsley Phelps, as well as Chinese Christians, such as Zhang Chunyi 張純一and Paul Yu Bin 于斌. It explores the different themes and arguments they discussed relating to the two religions and presents the most unique parts of it. Additionally, it compares how the topics and arguments between Taixu and missionaries, versus Taixu and Chinese Christians differed. It will draw upon sources produced both by Taixu and the respective Christian practitioners. Through this analysis, the paper sets out to provide a glimpse into a specific segment of Buddhist-Christian dialogue in early 20th century China.
