During the 20th century the English Dominican Province was notable for nurturing
political radicalism. In particular, both Laurence Bright and Herbert McCabe were
instrumental in providing mentorship to the Slant group, well-known for the pursuit of
Christian-Marxist dialogue. This talk will lay out the politico-theological ideas of Bright,
McCabe and Slant, and will situate them with respect to the broader Dominican
tradition.
