After decades of controversial relations marked by a kind of mutual suspicion, in more recent years the relationship between the Bible and psychology, and psychoanalysis in particular, appears more serene.
In this article I study some recent works by Massimo Recalcati, dedicated to the biblical roots of psychoanalysis.
A first part of the article is devoted to presenting two texts by the psychoanalyst, dedicated to the theme of the Law and desire, in order to highlight which biblical roots he recognises with respect to these categories.
In a second part of the study I will examine how Recalcati approaches the biblical passages, with which heuristic and hermeneutic presupposition, choosing some paradigmatic examples.
In the conclusion I will summarise the theological and methodological junctures that emerged from the analysis.
