"FAITH, RELIGION, AND HOPE REFLECTED IN THE PRODUCTIONS OF ART THERAPY."
Art therapy is a type of therapy whose vehicle is art or creative processes, versatile in its application and that includes, in addition to artistic techniques with various materials, movement, dance, music, meditación, performance...
The art therapist, with their tools, facilitates the connection of perspectives, emotions, and languages, and manages to generate dialogue and emotion.
In the participants' productions, religious symbols and beliefs, the past, present, and future, their motivations, family, health, and hope for regaining well-being appear.
My intention is to show how I have carried out my intervention as an art therapist in the settlements of the greenhouse areas with the Red Cross and at the headquarters of the NGO Women in Conflict Zones, in Almería (Spain).
It is a population of mixed migrations: Ukraine, Russia, South America, and Africa. With different religions, languages, traditions, and social patterns that shape their culture. When the connection with artistic creation occurs, the biased perspective of the art therapist and what the workshop participants express come to light. We accompany them with a loving gaze and the dialogue that arises from contemplation.
