Eiberg Jonas

Jonas Eiberg is a professor in vascular surgery, program director and post-graduate professor at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, from where he received his PhD degree in 2004. Main research areas are improved risk prediction of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms with a focus on advanced 3D-ultrasound, analysis of outcome after revascularisation of peripheral arterial disease, mesenteric ischaemia and educational research with particular focus on ultrasound skills and assessment, and simulation-based education (SBE) within the open and endovascular fields of vascular surgery, mono- and interprofessional. Jonas was instrumental in establishing the Vascular Research Unit at the Department of Vascular Surgery (@VascularCph). Since then, research has progressed, both in terms of active researchers, several publications, and the breadth of research. Jonas leads the cardiovascular programs at the Copenhagen Academy of Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES) and is former ESVS executive board member (ExCo), the first chair of the ESVS Academy, and currently the Danish ESVS councillor. Jonas is past president of the Danish Society of Vascular Surgery.
