Kakkos K Stavros
Professor Stavros K. Kakkos MD, MSc, PhD, RVT, is a graduate of the University of Patras Medical School. In 1997 he completed his training in General Surgery at the University Hospital of Patras, Greece. Subsequently he joined the Department of Vascular Surgery, Imperial College London, in London, UK, and obtained a PhD awarded by the University of London in 2004. Professor Kakkos is also a graduate of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship program of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, USA. In 2008 he joined the staff of the University of Patras Medical School, Patras, Greece, where he is currently a full Professor of Vascular Surgery and Chairman of the Department of Vascular Surgery. His research interests include, amongst others, carotid, aortic and venous disease, and thrombosis. He has authored over 300 articles and book chapters. Professor Kakkos is an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Editor of Cochrane Vascular, and Specialty Chief Editor, Vascular Surgery section, Frontiers in Surgery.
