Text:
From the perspective of historical materialism, this paper examines contemporary Chinese temple fair practices as a form of religious life, analyzing their social significance through key theoretical dimensions. It argues that these periodic public events facilitate the reproduction of local social relations, engage in cultural-economic activities, and provide a low-institutionalized mechanism for social integration, demonstrating a practical religious form that continuously participates in modern society.
