The ecological crisis is one of the most urgent challenges of our time. The debate on climate change has also raised the media attention to the increasing inequalities that are connected to it and spurred actions to mitigate and alleviate the impact on people, countries and ecosystems. What is the Evangelical church's contribution to this subject? How does the Global Evangelical church view creation care and how does the lack thereof impact reality? In the last 50 years, the Global Evangelical family has indeed produced a variety of "official" documents (declarations, statements, calls to action, resolutions etc.), that are (explicitly or implicitly) related to creation care and the related social inequalities. Their ongoing analysis of the situation, their radical diagnosis of root cause of the problem, their presentation of the ultimate Hope for restauration set an alternative framework to engage the current state of the inequalities that are a consequence of creation unsustainable exploitation, and to promote a widespread action that is not only needed, but it is also grounded on the anticipation of the coming peace, reconciliation and plentiful development.
