The question of human freedom, ecological implications, a society where the differences are eradicated all these are connected to the development of technology. We encounter a challenging situation, where human beings placed at the pinnacle of the development of technology, ecological crisis and a divided opinions over these issues. There has to be some preventive measures that could help to see how technology help the human beings to make use of it for the best of its development. When there lacks a system which balances everything it leads to a vacuum in the human society. Any development that lacks ecological consideration and human welfare has to be under surveillance. This calls for a fresh look at technology, ecology and development. It was Murray Bookchin (1921-2006), one of the leading American anarchist, political philosopher, trade-union organizer, and educator has contributed significantly to the field of ecology, sociology and philosophy. He wanted to present, 'creative, visionary and imaginative approaches.' This vision has led to creating ecotopia through local eco-communities. The form of technology that he envisioned to make this realize is liberatory technology, which is ecofriendly that could support building a society which is ecologically viable, humanly staged and morally sound. This is done through decentralization of technology and democratization of the society. This paper claims that, though the type of technological advances were limited to his time yet in the era of AI and SpaceX, his idea of liberatory technology with ecological sensibilities could be still valid.
