Text:
The text presents "Coranica" as an introductory path to Islam, which goes beyond simply explaining its religious content and aims above all to shed light on the historical relationships between the Christian and Muslim worlds. This approach is significant because it shifts the focus from mere theological comparison to a broader cultural and historical understanding. The central reference is to Ludovico Marracci, a key figure in Western studies of the Qur'an. His work represented a turning point: for the first time, Islam was analyzed with more systematic and philological tools. However, his work still reflects the climate of his time, marked by strong religious opposition and polemical intent. Despite these limitations, Marracci played a fundamental role because he opened the way to a method of study based on direct engagement with texts and more rigorous comparison. It is precisely from this legacy that the "Coranica" project takes shape: promoting dialogue based not on conflict, but on mutual understanding. Finally, the text highlights an important aspect: Christianity and Islam, despite their differences, share common elements and together represent a significant portion of humanity. Recognizing these affinities thus becomes an essential step in building more aware and less conflictual relationships between the two traditions.
