Catholic bioethics represents a rich tradition of principles and values informed by Sacred Scripture, the Magisterium, theological reflection, and philosophical insights that guide us through the deepest questions of human life. The presentation will consider the contribution that Catholicism can offer to the reflection on bioethics and will underscore the historical evolution of its presence, from the intervention in the debate, to the assistance in healthcare centers, to the definition of some basic and fundamental principles to inspire and drive the debate. At present, the attention of Catholic bioethics is devoted to creating and promoting forms of inter-disciplinary dialogue founded on universal values.
