INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE: A PATH TO PEACE Mirian Rejane Flores Cerveira This article proposes a critical-systematic analysis of contemporary paradigms in the theology of religions, with special attention to the pluralist model, understood as a hermeneutical horizon capable of responding to the challenges posed by the religious configuration of modernity. It starts from the recognition that religious plurality is not a peripheral phenomenon, but a structural dimension of contemporary societies, particularly in the Brazilian context, where different faith traditions coexist, interact, and compete for legitimacy in the public sphere. Encountering the other does not imply a dilution of identity, but rather a critical deepening of one's own tradition through responsible dialogue and openness to mutual learning. Interreligious dialogue thus emerges as a privileged means of mediating intolerance and consolidating a culture of peace rooted in shared responsibility among different faith traditions. In this context, interreligious dialogue is understood as an ethical requirement intrinsic to traditions that affirm human dignity and the centrality of peace as a normative value. Interreligious dialogue is presented as an ethical requirement intrinsic to faith traditions that affirm human dignity and the vocation to peace. In this context, peacebuilding is conceived as a historical and relational process that involves overcoming prejudices, transforming imaginaries, and interreligious engagement in the promotion of justice and peace. Keywords: Interreligious Dialogue, Religious Pluralism, Justice and Peace.
