Background:
Cervical lymph node metastases from papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) are frequents.
Methods:
Patient followed for PTC, initially underwent a total thyroidectomy with isotopic totalization of 100mci. At 4 months,TG at 9.67 ng/ml in braking, a cervical ultrasound found a lymphadenopathy of 2 cm, whose cytopuncture came back carcinomatous with a strongly positive TG in the rinse fluid. We had decided in a meeting multidisciplinary to reoperate under detection thanks to the in-situ injection of colloid-labelled technetium Tc99.
Results:
The anatomopathological study found 2 infiltrated lymphadenopathy and TG levels were lowered to 1ng/ml.
Conclusions:
Resection of lymph node metastasis from PCT by in situ injection technique of Tc-99-labelled colloid is a little-used technique. However, it seems to have several advantages: it indicates the type of dissection to be carried out and could reduce morbidity.
